Most of our lives are governed by our expectations of what we looking for. If we expect to succeed, we're optimistic, positive and hardworking, if we expect to fail we don't. But what about our expectations of others or of God. Think about the expectations people had of Jesus prior to the Transfiguration as recorded on Matthew 17. Life changed radically after that and many chose not to follow because they had different expectations that weren't being met.  This morning we take a look at our own expectations of life, God and the future and ask how can we possibly see clearly through the fog and haze that false expectations create.  “We were promised sufferings. They were part of the program. We were even told, 'Blessed are they that mourn,' and I accept it. I've got nothing that I hadn't bargained for. Of course it is different when the thing happens to oneself, not to others, and in reality, not imagination.” ― C.S.
