“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.” Psalm 143:8  I love the fact that God did not send the Magi on some wild goose chase. Look at Matthew 2:2, “…we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” God provided them with direction, a compass to find True North. Clear. Simple. Undeniable. Unfailing guidance. They saw the star and that same star in turn led them right to the Savior. It is important I suppose to pause at this point and realize this was one star among millions, but they had the insight to know which star to follow. Not every star that night would lead them where they wanted to go, neither will every promise of fame, happiness, and success lead you where you want to go. How adept are you at picking out which Star to follow and which are fakes?
Guidance (noun)  Advice or information aimed at resolving a problem or difficulty, esp. as given by someone in authority. The directing or position of something.
God had a plan that brought the Magi exactly to the very place they needed to be at just the right time. Christmas should remind each of us that God is an authority on the meaning of life, God has a plan for our lives and God is guiding our footsteps to achieve it, but we must be willing to walk the path. Through His Word and the voice of His Spirit He has given us clear guidance and direction in this world. The star would have had no value to the Magi unless they had been willing to follow it. The same holds true for each of us with regard to God’s Word and the gift of the Church. If you find yourself in a season where you need some guidance, turn to the Bible and engage with other travelers. God’s Word will never fail you. And just like that star it will guide you right to where you need to be at just the right time. Who knows what miracle awaits? (1) What is directing your life choices? Wants, needs, expectations, or purpose? (2) Does what you follow now change with the whims of changing times or is the unchangeable nature of God? (3) Path Principle: It is not your intention but your direction that determines your destination!  “At times of confusion, God will take our hands, guide and direct us through the unknown state to our destination” bolanle john Yesterday - 21 Days of Christmas - Surprise!
