The arrest of Jesus on the Mount of Olives as described in John 18:1-11, presents us with some rather troubling questions about who Jesus is and our response to his announcement. Jesus' response to the Roman soldiers is not at all what we might expect nor is the response of the Roman soldiers characteristic of an overwhelming military force come to arrest him and his followers. Peter's response, however, does seem like a more normal response (fight or flight), but he's rebuked for taking such a stand. What should we make of this important exchange as Jesus gives himself over to the authorities knowing full well what lies ahead? What questions do you have about Easter?
