On Sunday evening, July 12, 2015, we experienced a rare and tragic event when almost 4.5” of rain fell in less than an hour creating a flash flood in parts of Mineral Wells. More than 150 homes and businesses were damaged and numerous families were displaced with little or no warning. Many of these families do not have adequate insurance or the financial resources necessary to recover from this disaster. Yet in the face of such overwhelming conditions, hope and help came pouring in from those moved with compassion and called by God to be lifesavers for those swept away by rising water. In the immediate aftermath of the storm while residence were still assessing the magnitude of the damage and coming to grips with their loss, help came pouring in from all over the place. People felt compassion and a desire to comfort those in need. Call it a nudge, a connection, or a just tender heart, but people responded in an amazing way and I believe God has been moving in the lives of us all. This week we look at how to face uncommon circumstances with uncommon resolve. From John 9:1-12
