Mere Christianity by Clive Staples Lewis. A well thought out and easy to digest understanding of why spirituality matters, why we prove every day that God exists and how to live a more harmonious life. A great starting point.
The Great Divorce by Clive Staples Lewis. When people think of religion they think of Heaven and Hell. Lewis’ take on the outcome of a life lived indifferent to God and spirituality will change your perspective and motivate your heart to love not fear.
The Screwtape Letters by Clive Staples Lewis. Taking the perspective of a demon tempter, Lewis reveals how a demon seduces naive people to pursue their own destruction. Insightful and very challenging.
The King’s Cross by Timothy Keller. A solid review of the Gospel of Mark. If your new to faith matters and the Bible, or a season Christian willing to be refreshed this is a wonderful place to start.
Simply Jesus by N.T. Wright. A much more in depth look at the life of Jesus from a great writer, historian and theologian. Well worth the investment of thought and reflection.
Naked Spirituality by Brian McLaren. A life with God in 12 simple words.
When Life and Beliefs Collide Carolyn Custis James. A very practical look at life and theology. We’re all Theologians!
The Gospel of Ruth: Loving God Enough to Break the Rules by Carolyn Custis James. A very engaging look at a relatively obscure, yet powerful, portrait of faith.
Plan B: What Do You Do When God Doesn’t Show Up the Way You Thought He Would? by Pete Wilson. Life Changes so get used to it. Better yet be prepared to adapt to changing times. How do you develop a Plan B.

Foster, Richard. The Celebration of Discipline. A classic book on spiritual practices that will help us create space for God to work.
Peterson, Eugene. The Message (Bible paraphrase) One of the easiest Bibles to read if you are new to reading Scripture.
Peterson, Eugene. Eat This Book. Gives us insight into what the Bible is and what can happen to us when we make the Bible a part of every piece of our life.
Willard, Dallas. Hearing God. Helps bring to light the fact that God is speaking to us and how we go about hearing Him when He speaks.

Stearns, Richard. The Hole in Our Gospel. A call to remember the Gospel calls us to reach out to the poor and broken.
