What is the warranty for granite products?

Hey there! I’m a supplier in the granite business, and I often get asked about the warranty for granite products. So, I thought I’d sit down and write this blog to clear up any confusion. Granite

First off, let’s talk about what granite is. Granite is a natural stone. It’s formed deep within the Earth’s crust over millions of years. That’s why it’s so tough and durable. It can handle a lot of wear and tear, which is one of the reasons why it’s so popular for things like kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, and outdoor paving.

But just like any product, it’s not indestructible, and that’s where the warranty comes in. A warranty is basically a promise from me, as the supplier, to you, the customer. It’s a way to make sure you’re covered in case something goes wrong with the granite products you buy from me.

Common Types of Granite Product Warranties

There are a few different types of warranties you might come across when buying granite.

Material Defect Warranty

This is one of the most common types. A material defect warranty covers any issues that are caused by problems with the raw granite itself. For example, if the granite has a crack or a flaw that was there when it was quarried or cut, I’ll replace it at no cost to you. These defects are usually pretty rare because we carefully inspect all our granite before it leaves the warehouse. But stuff happens, and it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Installation Warranty

Sometimes, the problem isn’t with the granite but with how it’s installed. An installation warranty means that if there are any issues with the way the granite is put in, like it’s not level or the seams aren’t tight, I’ll come back and fix it. This is important because a bad installation can really ruin the look and functionality of your granite product.

Performance Warranty

This type of warranty covers how the granite performs over time. For instance, if the granite starts to chip or scratch more easily than it should under normal use, I’ll take care of it. We test our granite to make sure it meets certain standards for hardness and durability, so if it doesn’t live up to those standards, you’re covered.

What’s Usually Not Covered?

It’s important to know what the warranty doesn’t cover as well.

  • Normal Wear and Tear: Granite is tough, but it’s not going to look like new forever. Minor scratches and chips that happen over time from normal use, like cutting on the countertop or putting hot pots on it, aren’t covered. That’s just the nature of having a natural stone surface.
  • Improper Maintenance: If you don’t take care of your granite the right way, the warranty might not apply. For example, if you use the wrong cleaning products that damage the granite, that’s on you. We usually give customers a list of recommended cleaning and maintenance products when they buy our granite.
  • Accidental Damage: If you accidentally drop a heavy object on the granite and it cracks, that’s not covered by the warranty. Stuff like that is just part of life, and it’s not something we can control.

How Long Do Warranties Last?

The length of the warranty can vary. Some of our basic warranties might last for a year, while others can go up to 10 years or even more. It depends on the type of product and the level of warranty you choose.

For example, if you’re buying a high – end granite countertop for your kitchen, you might get a longer warranty because it’s a big investment. On the other hand, if you’re getting some small granite tiles for a bathroom backsplash, the warranty might be shorter.

What Do You Need to Do to Keep the Warranty Valid?

To make sure your warranty stays valid, there are a few things you need to do.

  • Keep Your Receipt: This is super important. The receipt is proof that you bought the granite from me, and it also shows the date of purchase. Without it, it’s going to be hard to prove that your product is still under warranty.
  • Follow the Maintenance Instructions: Like I said before, using the right cleaning products and taking care of your granite is crucial. Make sure you read the maintenance guide we give you and follow it.
  • Report Problems Right Away: If you notice any issues with your granite, don’t wait. Let me know as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the harder it might be to figure out what’s wrong and whether it’s covered by the warranty.

Our Warranty Process

If you have a problem with your granite and you think it’s covered by the warranty, here’s what you need to do.

First, give me a call. Explain the problem as clearly as you can. I’ll ask you some questions about when the problem started, how it happened, and what it looks like.

Next, I’ll arrange to come out and take a look at the granite. I need to see the issue for myself to determine if it’s covered by the warranty.

If it turns out that the problem is covered, we’ll work out a solution. This could mean replacing the damaged part of the granite, fixing it on – site, or whatever is the best option.

Why Our Warranty Matters

Our warranty is important because it gives you peace of mind. When you buy granite from me, you’re making a significant investment, especially if it’s for a large project like a kitchen renovation.
