“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that He considered me faithful, appointing me to His service.” 1 Timothy 1:12
Curious to know more about the faces you see each Sunday leading, teaching, singing and serving here? Then you've come to the right place! It is the friendly face in the crowd that makes all the difference. Welcoming and inviting you to relax and go beyond the stereotypes. They are the friendly faces you meet right away with a kind word and disarming smile, and it just so happens they're also a lot of fun to be around! We want to help you feel at ease, to answer any questions you may have, and to invite you to get to know us, our connection and what makes MPC unlike any other church around.  Learn more about who we are — from the books they read, the movies that inspire us, to the teams they root for on the weekend, to what they love most about being part of MPC. Ask them why they're here, what they hope for and what 'church' means to them. They're really dying to tell you their story.

Linette and I are originally from a small town in central Pennsylvania, where we both attended the same elementary school and graduated from the same high school. We will have been married for 30 years this coming August and have shared most of those years with three terrific children, Katelin (27), Abbie (24), and Alex (20), and most recently a grandson Rylan (6). Steve graduated from Penn State University (1985) with a BS in chemistry and Duke University in 1990 with a PhD in organic chemistry. We have been avid Penn State and Duke fans ever since!

After graduation from Duke, we relocated to Kingsport, TN where I worked for Eastman Kodak as a research chemist for 8 years before moving to West Virginia. Steve worked as a research chemist for GE before transitioning into full time ministry in 2005. Steve is the author of over 18 US and World patents, 25 technical articles, two encyclopedia chapters, and one referee magazine article! Steve graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in May of 2010 and has been serving First UMC Williamstown full time since 2005.

Steve was appointed to First United Methodist Church, Williamstown, WV in December 2004 by Bishop Lyght after serving at Calcutta / Nine Mile Charge for 3 years (2001-2004)  and Fairview UMC for one (2000). Steve was ordained a Full Elder in the West Virginia Annual Conference on June 12th, 2013 by Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball. Steve brings a passion for sharing Christ in ways that makes sense to people who lives such hectic, driven and competitive lives but still feel empty, frustrated and depressed when it comes to their relationships, legacy and faith. I want to help these kind of people grow beyond what they feel forced to do by cultural standards and become the kind of people who make a real impact in the world. My commitment to Haiti and the friends I have there is just one example. I pray that that together we can build a greater level of trust in God and one another, and in the process reflect the image of Christ every day, in every word, by every action. Ordination Short List 021 Best    I enjoy reading, running and officiating soccer in the spring and fall. I like to putz around with websites and my blog. I am trained in Healthy Congregation Development and hope to continue to develop a strong mission connection to Dos Bois Rouge in Haiti.  Connect with us on Facebook or Shutterfly Fairview UMC        2000-2001 Calcutta / Nine Mile Charge 2001-2004 First UMC                    2004-2015 Mt.
