Excuses“He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.”  Benjamin Franklin Our spiritual lives are filled with excuses. Adam blamed Eve for the apple he bit into, Eve blamed the snake for the apple she plucked, and you and I blame everyone and everything for the inconveniences, conflicts and challenges that we wish would go away. The mantra of our generation is painfully, "It wasn't my fault!" The reality is that excuses steal the passion, vision and wisdom each day offers to us. If we're not at fault for the problems then we're not responsible for the successes and the struggles that we went through to achieve them. We empower others to have control over our lives and then complain when things don't go the way we envisioned them. So... if you want to live boldly and without regret, get rid of the excuses. Easier said than done, I know. But there are real options and habits we need to engage in if life is to become our own.
