"We want a “religious” leader, not a king! We want someone to save our souls, not rule our world! Or, if we want a king, someone to take charge of our world, what we want is someone to implement the policies we already embrace, just as Jesus’s contemporaries did. But if Christians don’t get Jesus right, what chance is there that other people will bother much with him?"   N.T. Wright (Simply Jesus) Several Questions to ask yourself about Your Christmas Experience. Many were invited to the banquet, but chose not to attend for a variety of reasons. Will Christmas make any difference for you?

(1) Do you want anything for your soul this Christmas?

There's a temptation to focus only on what we want under the tree, but Jesus came to give us something we need in our hearts. If we don't at least ask the questions about the state of our soul, you can probably bet we really don't want anything in our lives we can't control. The best defense against the Spirit of Christmas is to close the door to the questions it raises.

(2) What do you want to give you family and friends that will enable them to become better People?

Another electronic device won't make anyone a better human being, only a more efficient one. Efficiency is not the same thing as effective nor will it make us more loving. As a parent or friend, what can you give to those you love that will open the door to God's best for them?

(3) What will you understand about the Heart of God that you didn't know before?

The depth of Christmas, the Word made Flesh, the incarnation and the humility and availability of Mary and Joseph is beyond our simple Nativity sets to comprehend. God longs for the heart of His people to turn to him and ask "why". The love of God is transformational and alive!  Those who find it, find the truth of God's plan and why they long to live boldly. How do you answer the questions of Christmas? What help and encouragement can you provide to others?
